Friendship Camp is an interfaith day camp for children in kindergarten through 8th grade that cultivates friendship across lines of religious difference. Through games, arts, music, shared meals, nature, and hands-on learning, campers explore the world's religious traditions while deepening their own faith through age-appropriate classes and spiritual practice within their own tradition. The camp equips young people to grow in curiosity, empathy, and respect, helping them build lasting relationships that strengthen our community for generations to come.
Our inaugural Friendship Camp was held in the summer of 2026, welcoming 34 campers in kindergarten through 8th grade. The camp was made possible through a $40,000 United Thank Offering (UTO) grant from the Episcopal Church, together with generous support from multiple faith communities and individual donors. More than 30 youth and adult volunteers from diverse religious traditions helped create a joyful, welcoming environment where children could learn, play, and grow together across differences. Participants represented seven distinct religious traditions.

Our first Friendship Camp confirmed what we had hoped: when children are given the opportunity to learn, play, and grow together across religious differences, friendships flourish. We're excited to continue growing this program in the years ahead, expanding both the number of children we can welcome and the community of volunteers and partners who make it possible.
