Rooted in love, the Interfaith Coalition of Douglas County cultivates courageous solidarity in sacred space with our diverse neighbors, in pursuit of compassionate understanding across our distinct spiritual beliefs and religious traditions, advocating for human dignity and spiritual flourishing for all.
An Open Letter to Douglas County Faith Communities — Responding to Islamophobia
On September 28, we shared this open letter with faith communities across the county in response to Islamophobic misinformation circulating in connection with local electoral politics.
We spoke up not from a place of partisanship, but from the context of the interfaith relationships we have built across Douglas County.
Our Muslim neighbors are our neighbors. They are part of the relationships, communities, and shared life of this county.
We invite faith communities to read the letter and consider how we can continue to cultivate communities where fear and misinformation do not have the final word.
